Youthful skin starts within

Sculptra® Aesthetic works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful-looking appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra® Aesthetic helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging.1-3 Sculptra® Aesthetic is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart.

What Is Sculptra® Aesthetic?

Address an underlying cause of facial aging, not just the symptoms

Sculptra® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen — an underlying cause of facial aging — for results that can last more than two years.

It’s used to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds

Why should you choose Sculptra® Aesthetic?

Real results that last

Not all treatments or injectables are created the same. Some target different areas of the face, and, more importantly, produce different effects.

Traditional collagen creams purport to deliver collagen that is absorbed by the skin. However, collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the dermis. So, in actuality, most of these treatments include vitamins and hold moisture, making them suitable moisturizers that can briefly improve skin’s appearance.

Collagen dietary supplements are meant to facilitate the production of collagen within the body. However, collagen is a protein that, when ingested, is broken down by the digestive system. Results for these types of treatments are inconclusive.

Toxins work by temporarily weakening muscles, typically in the forehead, to minimize frown lines. Results appear within a couple days and can last up to a couple months.

Sculptra Aesthetic may stimulate collagen growth which helps to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds over time.

Fillers are liquid or gel substances, like hyaluronic acid or bovine or porcine collagen, that diminish lines by pushing up the dermis space beneath wrinkles and creases. Results appear immediately and can last up to several months.

As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra® Aesthetic is different. It works with your body within the deep dermis, rather than topically, to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.1-3 As the Sculptra® Aesthetic PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume4 and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

How does Sculptra® Aesthetic work?

Slow and steady strength

Sculptra® Aesthetic is made with biocompatible, biodegradable,synthetic material called poly-L lactic acid, which is graduallyand naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist.

The specialist injects treatment within the deep dermis, where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. Over time, Sculptra® Aesthetic helps the body reproduce lostcollagen. On average, three injection appointments are

needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is FDA approved in the U.S. and has been used worldwide since 1999.

Sculptra® Aesthetic contains a synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is a biocomplatible, biodegradable substance that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and commonly found in dissolvable stitches.

Though allergy testing is not required prior to treatment, you should not use Sculptra® Aesthetic if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. You should also not use the product when you have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area, or if you have a history or susceptibility to keloid formation formation or hypertrophic scarring.

The best way to minimize side effects is to seek a skilled specialist. Treatments should always be administered by a physician who has been thoroughly and specifically trained on Sculptra® Aesthetic.

In a clinical trial, the most commonly reported side effects after treatment were:

  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Injection site pain
  • Bruising
  • Bleeds
  • Itching and lumps

Sculptra® Aesthetic should be injected into the deep dermis. Superficial injections may be associated with small bumps and larger lumps under the skin in the treated area. In a clinical study, a few subjects reported these bumps and lumps, but none of these events were reported as serious adverse events by the investigator.
